Washer Workflow Workaround

My dishwasher broke.  It's 6 years old so it probably needs replacing anyway.  The "soft press" buttons on the front panel stopped working.  It's not like the water pump or heating element went out, instead, my dishwasher stopped working because of a problem with the control buttons.  Frustrating...  I suppose I'll get a new one, but until then I wasn't going to let my perfectly good washer sit idle because of a silly broken button panel.  A little Googling, dismantling, cutting, soldering, and I now have a washer with a single button that turns the wash cycle on or cancels it.  I love it, a 20 year old black and red Radio Shack button that I rummaged from my garage now controls the washing of my dishes.
